The Village of Ottoville is looking for a versatile, hardworking individual to join our team as a full-time Maintenance & Utility Technician. This hybrid role is perfect for someone who enjoys variety—splitting time between keeping our streets in top shape and supporting our critical water and wastewater operations.
What You’ll Do:
- Keep Ottoville Moving: You will have primary responsibility for Village street maintenance, including patching potholes, snow removal, street sweeping, mowing, and leaf pickup.
- Technical Support: Help operate our Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants, take samples, and perform laboratory tests.
- Hands-on Work: Operate equipment like the backhoe, dump truck, and man lift to maintain village infrastructure.
- Maintain Our Village: Perform grounds maintenance and minor repairs on Village vehicles and buildings.
What We’re Looking For:
- A high school diploma or GED.
- 1–3 years of experience in street maintenance and heavy equipment operation preferred but not required.
- A valid Ohio driver’s license. Candidates must possess or willing to work towards a State of Ohio Class I Wastewater and Water Treatment License.
- Ability to perform very heavy work, including lifting up to 100 lbs.
Work Environment:
This position involves working in various weather conditions and environments, including around sewers and noisy areas.
The position may require after-hours support.
