I barbered two nights a week in Ottoville while working full time at Andy's Italian Barber Shop, Lima, Ohio.
Following the death of Owner/Operator Ralph Kramer, I began barbering with a Masters License alongside Wm. "Doc" Otte, in the Kramer Building (1958).
In 1959 I purchased the present structure from J. L. Wannemacher and leased the ground for approximately 10 years, located just north of the Wannemacher Implement Store, Ottoville, Ohio.
In 1978 this site became the new location of the Ottoville Municipal Building.
In 1969 I purchased a parcel lot of commercial real-estate property from Albert Winkelman and had the entire structure moved onto a new foundation, with the work done by Lawrence Eickholt Excavating, Clarence Koester Construction and Geo. Rieger Plumbing all of Ottoville.
This is the present location of Jerry's Barber/Styling Services, 122 Second Street, Ottoville, Ohio.
I took advance courses in styling and Hairpiece Sakes and Service Seminars at Ohio State Barber College, Toledo, Ohio and became an authorized dealer of Men's Hair Replacements.
I offer full time business hours by walk ins Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 9:00-5:00 PM. Saturday mornings 8:00-Noon. Appointments are scheduled Thursday Evenings.
In 1994 Jan Niedecken who previously operated a Barber Shop in the village of Cloverdale, closed the business there and presently is Barbering her clientele on limited hours at Jerry's Barber/Styling Services. Her Schedule includes Walk-ins Mondays 9:00-5:00. Appointments Monday Evenings 6:00-9:00.
