The 31 member Ottoville VFD is headed up by chief Denny (Hippie) Bendele. Apparatus includes 2 engines, a tanker truck, a brush truck, and an equipment van. The department also proudly displays their 1929 International in local parades and at the annual Northern Ohio Volunteer Firemen's Association Parade each June. The Putnam County Sheriff's Office in Ottawa is the dispatch point for the Ottoville VFD, although the department receives several calls directly each year.
